Who are you, and why are you blogging?

Great question, internet! My name is Alex and I am the disheveled, exhausted, seldomly coherent, and generally proud mother of twin boys - Elijah and Judah. When I was pregnant with the boys I thought I would be the best record-keeper/scrap-booker/baby book filler-outer that there ever was. Oh, how naive I was. Almost fourteen months later I realize that the baby books are mostly blank still and it has become difficult to remember exactly when we hit some minor milestones (I know the big ones, at least!). So part of the reason why I decided to start this blog is to keep track of when things happen so that one day - far in the future - when I sit down to fill in the missing pages of their baby books, Eli and Jude might know that I'm not completely making things up because I couldn't remember what really happened.

The second reason I decided to blog is because I'm always being asked about how the boys are, what they're doing, what they look like, how they behave, and so on. So, instead of launching into the same long spiel about Eli's newest bruise or Jude's latest kitchen expedition, there could be a place for friends and family to keep up with the daily craziness that comes with raising twins. Besides, I usually try to spare people what I think are the "boring" or "everyday" parts of twin life and I'm starting to realize that those are the moments most people find most endearing and fascinating.

In short, I love my boys (that includes my husband!) and even though it's crazy and exhausting and overwhelming at times, I love my life. This blog is just a way to remember the little things next week, month, or year that are happenning today.
